 Abstract: Regulatory mechanisms in the cardiorespiratory system can be presented as a network of coupling interactions. Moreover, the coupling is changing in time and depends on the health condition of the patient. Therefore, a study in the cardiorespiratory system regulatory mechanisms can be effectively conducted using information theory methods. Recently, information theory has been extended by methods of studying changes in dynamics in multivariable systems. Among measures of dynamic aspects of information, the most relevant one is transfer entropy being a measure of influence on an assigned target series in a multivariate dataset. The dataset described cardio-respiratory system contains the ECG signal, the blood pressure signal, and the respiratory wave. During the seminar, I will introduce you to the structure of interactions in the cardio-respiratory system of humans with the use of information theory measures
